What do you get when you mix funky Soul with the Blues. Easy answer is that you get Missy Andersen and her latest self titled CD. Kicking off with an amazing version of O V Wright's "Ace of Spades" you know straight away that there is something very special here as she puts new energy into some very well known songs. Missy's voice harkens back to the greats of the 50's and early 60's with her potent, take no prisoners style. There is a grit and conviction in her voice that is undeniable. Husband and band leader Heine Andersen's guitar provides a great base to the stunning band. Her phrasing on Anne Peebles' "I Can't Stand the Rain" is sublime and showcases this amazing talent. Add to this two of her self penned originals and you have an album that has no weaknesses at all. Play it as Blues or Soul it doesn't really matter as either way we have one of the truly great voices of our time here to listen to. Main Squeeze Records has provided Missy with a great production to showcase her God given talent to sing up a storm or tear down any wall with her heartfelt emotion. Can l be greedy and say "l want more, please?”

Needs to be heard, has to be heard, so pick up a copy and discover like me one of the very best talents around.
